I’m super surprised and very honored that the 8th Annual Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards has nominated Cinebeats.com for “Best Horror Blog.”
The Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards were started in 2002 by David Colton and Kerry Gammill who run the Classic Horror Film Boards. The awards are a labor of love created by people who really love horror films and the nominees are selected by horror fans and enthusiasts as well as industry pros. The award itself is a fantastic miniature version of the amazing bust of actor Rondo Hatton that was originally seen in the 1946 film House of Horrors (Dir. Jean Yarbrough).
As I’ve mentioned many times before, horror is my favorite film genre so I feel especially honored to be nominated for an award that singles out individuals who blog about horror movies. I’m also nominated along with many of my favorite bloggers which makes the honor even more special. A big & hearty congratulations to all the nominees this year!
I’m still in the process of moving but hopefully I’ll be somewhat settled into my new home next month and I’ll have a chance to update Cinebeats more often. In the meantime please feel free to peruse the archives.

Wow — that’s a great honor… and well-deserved! I love your blog, and have loved it for years. I recommend it all the time. How is voting done? Is it open to the public?

Thanks so much, Staci! Anyone can vote by email. You just have to copy and paste the text ballot with your answers/votes into an email and send it off. If you follow the link posted above it should take you to the ballot with all the info. Hope that helps and thanks again!!

Congrats on the award. It is well deserved! Cinebeats is really well written and the design is amazing, and really, it is one of the best blogs, period. I look forward to new posts, Kimberly!

Allow me to join the chorus as well… I think I “liked” this on Facebook, but it deserves the time of commenting. You know I’ve been a fan forever, but this is well deserved indeed. This is consistently among the best blogs out there.

Thanks so much for all the nice words of support! I really appreciate it.
There’s a lot of great blogs that were nominated so I’m lucky to be among such good company. Thanks again!! :)

Congratulations on the nomination!
Being a long time reader and fan of your blog (but a first time commenter), I was a little unhappy to read this on your first post of the new year:
“…I suspect that I won’t have much time for blogging about film in 2010 since my interests are shifting more towards other things…”
Glad to see that has changed. Keep up the good work!
Kimberly Lindbergs says; February 23, 2010 @ 4:25 pm
Thanks a lot, Jake! Things will undoubtedly slow down here a bit in 2010 since I’m interested in blogging about other topics over at Mid-Century Living but I’ll never stop blogging about movies. I do need to learn to manage my time better but my move is going to help with that a lot.
I do have some exciting blogging news to share soon that will probably interest a lot of Cinebeats’ readers! :)

What Jake just said, please keep up posting, the world needs all the beauty and wit that pours out from this place.
Best regards and the shiniest of lucks from one happy Rondo voter. No, thank you!

You sure know how to make a girl blush, Sergio. Thanks so much for all the kind words about Cinebeats!

At last I’m proven officially right to all my horror-loving friends when I dared them to point me to a better horror blog than yours. Bravo!
If I can vote I’ll vote for you because this amazing statue/prize should go to someone who’ll appreciate it

You’re too kind, Damian! I appreciate your support and I’m glad you enjoy my blog. There’s a lot of great blogs nominated so it’s an honor to be a part of the Rondo’s this year.

That’s really kind of you, Bill! I truly appreciate the flattering words about Cinbeats.
As I mentioned above, there are some great blogs nominated this year and I have no delusions about winning any awards for my blogging efforts. I’m just flattered when anyone notices what I do here and takes the time to thank me for it.
I’ve voted for Frankensteinia myself last year since I’m rather obsessed with Dr. Frankenstein and the monster. Pierre’s blog is fantastic and he’s nominated in multiple categories so I feel really thankful just to be nominated along with him as well as others such as the very funny Final Girl, The Groovy Age of Horror, etc. I’m just super grateful for any votes I might receive since I don’t focus solely on horror films here. Thanks again, Bill!
